At the end of April, orthopedic surgeons from Mongolia, Indonesia and Fiji visited Guangzhou, China, as part of the Silk Road Health International Cooperation and Exchange Program initiated by Zhongguancun Intelligent Medical Engineering Interdisciplinary Association. During their visit, the delegation participated in academic exchange activities at The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital, The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and The Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.

The program combined hospital visits, surgical observation, case sharing, academic discussion, and a dedicated Asia-Pacific Joint Surgery Techniques Workshop. Participants engaged in hands-on sawbones training covering ACCK and AFK surgical techniques, followed by supervised practical exercises and technical exchange with Chinese orthopedic experts.

Through surgery demonstrations, academic sessions, and practical training, participants gained deeper insight into joint reconstruction procedures, surgical techniques, and clinical decision-making, while strengthening professional connections and knowledge exchange among orthopedic specialists from different countries.

The Silk Road Health International Cooperation and Exchange Program remains committed to promoting international orthopedic education, facilitating clinical knowledge exchange, and supporting long-term medical collaboration across Belt and Road partner countries.

We look forward to continuing to work with healthcare institutions and orthopedic professionals worldwide to advance orthopedic innovation and improve patient outcomes globally.
